The Ackerman center together with Curriculum and Instruction Department (College of Education, Purdue University) faculty received a synergy grant for the 2012-2013 study, titled "Understanding Adolescent Civic Identity through a Community Problem-Based Project." The purpose of this study is to investigate the civic identity of youth from marginalized populations, as they participate in a community problem-based project using mixed methods approach. The findings of this study will contribute to the literature and assist Oakland High School (Lafayette School Coorporation, Indiana) in their curricular choices. Data collection will start Fall 2012. For more information please contact Dr. Asta Balkute at abalkute@purdue.edu.
